The 18k gold vermeil finish (minimum 2.5 micron gold plating on sterling silver) highlights the subtle sculptural qualities of this dramatic simple form. Your selection from the Sprout collection is very easy to care for - with a few exceptions. The bronze, flame worked patinas, and oxidized sterling silver elements are quite durable.  All the bronze elements are carefully waxed using carnauba wax obtained from the leaves of a palm tree known as Copernica Cerifera, which is also referred to as the "Tree of Life".  Over time you will find that the patina will "age" and some areas will become burnished and the natural bronze coloring will be revealed. This natural process will add to the unique quality of your piece. We suggest that, in order to preserve the patina, that you avoid wearing Sprout while bathing, swimming, or in a hot tub (very harsh chemicals there!). If desired, reapply wax occasionally and sparingly.
