Slabs of thick metal — exuding impenetrability. Dense, homogenous. No mark should be superfluous — only what is required. Form that strives to venerate the shadows cast by function.
Cut the slabs — bend them, drill into them.
The torque of the end mill can send the piece flying across the room if it is not precisely clamped — if the edges are not precisely milled.
Accents that resemble bolt heads, forged nails, and rivets.
The culet of the stone descends into the channel.
Setting the stones — a complete antithesis to the other processes — like tucking a baby in at night.
